Assistant Manager

Location: 20405 South Dixie Highway, Miami, FL, 33189 Position Description As an Applebee's® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of the day‑to‑day operations at the restaurant. You are responsible for ensuring guests and staff are passionate about their experience every day at Applebee's®. You will need to be a team leader, an excellent problem solver, handle stress, and lead by example while enjoying your work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit. Cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of our core values and beliefs. Responds immediately and corrects all verbal guest complaints for staff and self. Prioritizes guest contact by completing required table visits as established by Flynn Applebee's standards. Maintains departmental inventory levels. Ensures product preparation and presentation meet company standards by performing line checks. Schedules employees effectively to meet sales demands. Maintains effective safety and security programs. Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation. Performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director immediately. Recruitment and referral of potential team members and management candidates. Promotes Flynn | Applebee's training procedures for new managers. Maintains a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings, and implementation of company policy and training systems. Participates in constant development of employees using One‑On‑One and performance documentation, contributing to written evaluations. Assesses employee efficiency, provides fair feedback regularly, and works with employees on development areas. Monitors employee performance and documents situations requiring disciplinary or corrective action. Ensures compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures. Controls cost in the assigned department. Complies with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines. Drives bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM's request and ensures completion. Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork. Maintains sanitation standards that meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards. Provides a role model for managers and employees. Develops self on all store‑related technology. Willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member role as needed (cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, bartending, etc.). Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies. Education and Experience At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience. Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol Certifications (plus). Physical Standards Work various shifts ranging in hours, including weekends. Stand and exert well‑paced mobility for up to ten (10) hours in length. Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds. Read and write to facilitate communication.
