Roadway Civil EIT

Your Opportunity Stantec’s Upstate New York Transportation group has an immediate need for talented, team-focused Civil Engineer EITs with 0‑3 years of experience in specialty areas including roadway/highway design, traffic control & construction staging design, right‑of‑way engineering, access design, and utility engineering. The position is located in our Albany, NY office. This position offers opportunities to work on a variety of transportation projects, ranging from local roads and complete streets to major interstates, shared‑use paths, and trails. You will learn and grow within a collaborative team environment. Your Key Responsibilities Use knowledge of general engineering concepts to support projects focused on transportation systems such as highways, streets, drainage structures, utilities, traffic signals, and roadway lighting. Perform basic calculations to analyze and design engineering system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software. Assist the team in preparing engineering designs, drawings, specifications, presentations, and reports, and gather information to support design decisions. Assist in interpreting and verifying compliance with applicable codes, standards, and practices. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineers and professionals under the direction of a senior engineer. Provide support services during construction, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, and contract document clarifications. Perform field work related to construction activities as required. Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff. Your Capabilities and Credentials Basic understanding of general civil design concepts. Basic knowledge of MicroStation, In Roads, Open Roads Designer, or AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Education and Experience Civil engineering technician or technology diploma from a recognized community or technical college, or equivalent knowledge gained from experience. 0 to 3 years of experience in engineering consulting or construction industry.
