This position will be based in the Bethany, MO location.

M-F 8am-5pm, every 5th Saturday.

Retail Banking Officer

Manages overall retail operations to ensure efficient and satisfactory implementation of customer services keeping with financial institution policies and procedures, as well as manage and direct retail personnel.

Multi-faceted responsibilities range from cash handling and basic transactions to product and service sales, and referrals to other lines of business. Primary skills include key product knowledge, relationship building, customer service and referrals.

Provide oversight and direction to retail branch employees in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.

Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.

Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.

Has responsibility for training of department personnel; reviewing and evaluating performance; and recommending salary adjustments, promotions, discharges and other personnel-related actions.

Develop and maintain customer relations, provide exceptional customer service, maintain bank's cash with accuracy and security.

Assist personnel in helping customers with routine account-related requests such as: funds transfers, automatic funds transfers, stop payments, inquiries about bank deposit products and service charges, inquiries about debit card usage and limits, inquiries about checking and savings accounts transactions, inquiries about funds availability, and check verification requests by third parties.

Assist personnel in verifying information on ATM/debit card applications to the information in customer database.

Distribute to customers and properly log all "hold statements" and check orders held by the bank.

Process lockbox payments, including deposit preparation and daily report transmission.

Maintain the bank's files for currency transaction reports, customer safekeeping receipts, loan and trust collateral receipts, commercial resolutions, powers of attorney, court orders, levies, miscellaneous deposit documentation and general correspondence.

Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in economics or finance preferred, or equivalent work experience with be considered.

Three to five years cash handling experience preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office, Excel, and Outlook).

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
