Position Overview

Kemco Facilities Services is seeking an experienced Commercial Beverage Equipment Service Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of commercial beverage equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience servicing commercial beverage systems, and the ability to provide professional customer service while working independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate commercial beverage equipment.
• Service equipment including coffee machines, espresso machines, soda dispensers, ice machines, frozen beverage equipment, and water filtration systems.
• Ensure equipment operates according to manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and plumbing-related equipment issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend equipment life.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning components, including pumps, motors, thermostats, valves, electrical components, and other equipment parts.
• Communicate directly with customers to identify equipment issues and explain necessary repairs.
• Provide professional recommendations regarding repairs, equipment upgrades, and preventative maintenance.
• Complete accurate service reports documenting work performed, labor time, and parts used.
• Submit service documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of tools, replacement parts, and service equipment.
• Order replacement parts according to company procedures.
• Follow all company and industry safety requirements while performing service and installation work.
• Stay current on manufacturer specifications, industry standards, safety requirements, and new beverage equipment technology.
• Participate in company and manufacturer training opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to less-experienced technicians when needed.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent Kemco Facilities Services positively while working at customer locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training or certifications in electronics, refrigeration, appliance repair, or a related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience servicing commercial beverage equipment or related commercial mechanical/electrical systems preferred.
• Previous field service experience in the food service, restaurant, hospitality, or beverage equipment industry strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and plumbing systems as they relate to commercial beverage equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment documentation.
• Experience servicing equipment such as coffee makers, espresso machines, soda fountains, ice machines, frozen beverage equipment, and water filtration systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple service calls.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic service documentation.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy.
• Must be able to successfully complete company-required background and drug screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• EPA certification for refrigeration systems.
• Manufacturer certifications for commercial beverage, ice, refrigeration, or food-service equipment.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing field service position.
• Experience servicing multiple brands of commercial beverage equipment.
• Commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and carry 50–75 pounds .
• Ability to move equipment weighing up to approximately 100 pounds with assistance or appropriate lifting equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods.
• Ability to safely climb and work from ladders.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and other commercial service environments.
• Ability to travel regularly to customer locations throughout the assigned service area.
• Ability to safely work around electrical systems, refrigeration equipment, steam, hot surfaces, and other commercial equipment hazards while utilizing appropriate safety equipment.
