Location: Jackson, MI | Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM12:00 PM | Pay Rate: Starting at $20.00/hour, flexible based on experience | Employment Type: Part-Time with potential to transition to Full-Time

About the Role

Cardinal Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable professional for a reputable employer in Jackson, MI. This is an in-office accounting position responsible for processing accounts payable transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, working with vendors, and assisting with accounting and finance projects. This is not a remote position.

The position will initially be part-time, with the potential to transition to full-time in the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify invoices for proper documentation and approval before payment
• Sort, code, match, and enter invoices into the accounting system
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
• Prepare and process check and electronic payment runs
• Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies
• Communicate with vendors and respond to inquiries
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments remain current
• Provide supporting documentation for audits
• Assist with additional accounting and finance projects as needed

Job Requirements

• 12 years of Accounts Payable experience preferred
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures
• Strong data entry and records-management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Oracle experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• High school diploma required; college-level accounting coursework preferred
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines
• Must be available to work in-office MondayFriday
