Cook Position

Perkins Management Services is seeking a Cook for the campus of the University of District Columbia. The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and be capable of following directions and multitasking effectively. We are looking for candidates who will:

• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create diverse menus that align with both client and company policies and vision.
• Properly handle, store, and rotate all products.
• Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, ensuring that the excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of the food are maintained.
• Produce high-quality dishes that adhere to the established menu and meet the location's standards as well as client requirements.
• Ensure that hygiene and food safety standards are met throughout all stages of food preparation, from the ingredients to the finished dish leaving the kitchen.
• Operate large-volume cooking equipment, such as grills, deep-fat fryers, and griddles.
• Keep the work area neat and clean at all times, and clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with coworkers and customers.
• Follow and communicate instructions from the Executive or Sous Chef.

Job Requirements:

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a cook.
• Certifications: SERV Safe certification is required.
