POSITION SUMMARY:
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for the ongoing management, monitoring, and administration of a portfolio of healthcare asset-based lending relationships. Working closely with Relationship Managers, Credit, Loan Administration, and external counsel, this role supports all aspects of the credit lifecycle, including underwriting, portfolio monitoring, annual reviews, renewals, risk management, covenant compliance, and loan closings.

This position may be hired at the Portfolio Manager or Junior Portfolio Manager level based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, and demonstrated expertise in commercial banking, credit analysis, and asset-based lending.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage a portfolio of healthcare asset-based lending relationships, including ongoing monitoring of collateral, borrowing availability, credit performance, and portfolio risk.
• Review, analyze, and approve Borrowing Base Certificates and collateral reporting to support client borrowing requests and ensure compliance with credit agreements.
• Analyze borrower financial statements, operating performance, liquidity trends, and cash flow to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate annual reviews, renewals, modifications, and extensions of credit facilities, ensuring accurate analysis and timely completion.
• Prepare and present credit recommendations, risk assessments, and portfolio updates for internal approval committees and management.
• Monitor maturing loans, criticized assets, covenant compliance, and past due obligations, taking proactive action to address potential issues.
• Recommend and maintain appropriate risk ratings for assigned relationships in accordance with bank policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Review field examinations, appraisals, collateral audits, and third-party reports to assess collateral quality and borrowing capacity.
• Partner with Relationship Managers on new credit opportunities, portfolio expansions, and client relationship management activities.
• Coordinate with Loan Administration, Credit, and external legal counsel during loan closings, amendments, modifications, and documentation updates.
• Ensure credit files, approval memoranda, financial reporting, and relationship documentation are complete and audit ready.
• Support workout strategies, problem loan management, and special assets initiatives when necessary.
• Participate in client meetings, site visits, industry conferences, and business development efforts as appropriate.
• Assist with departmental reporting, strategic initiatives, process improvements, and special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 4+ years of commercial banking, healthcare finance, asset-based lending, or credit underwriting experience.
• Experience managing credit relationships and leading annual review and renewal processes.
• Strong understanding of commercial loan structures, collateral monitoring, and risk management principles.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: We offer a hybrid schedule, with 4 days in-office and 1 day remote after the initial 90-day period.

COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE:
In accordance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, we are committed to providing transparent wage information for all posted job opportunities. The wage range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000 annually, plus discretionary performance based bonus. Compensation is determined based on factors such as Experience, Qualifications, and Internal equity.
