Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor

Your specific responsibilities include supervision of staff, nutrition assessments and counseling for WIC participants, conducting group nutrition classes, and providing breastfeeding support for clients. You will offer referrals to medical, health, and socioeconomic agencies and collaborate closely with the Healthy Start Program. Additionally, you will assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating public health nutrition programs for WIC clients, department patients, and staff.

Supervisory responsibilities include facilitating and overseeing all required nutrition training for newly hired staff, supervising nutrition staff in all clinic locations, and providing ongoing professional guidance and support. You will participate in in-service programs and staff development activities relevant to job duties and attend seminars and workshops related to WIC policies and procedures, breastfeeding, and nutrition.

Other duties include performing other related duties as assigned and being required to travel as part of the position.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include knowledge of data collection methods, ability to enter information into multiple data systems, knowledge and skill in the application of nutrition principles, ability to work independently, ability to motivate and develop staff, ability to maintain strict confidentiality, ability to communicate effectively, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with the major course of study in nutritional science, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, or dietetics, a current/active license as a Dietitian or Nutritionist in the State of Florida, and a valid driver's license.
