Event Staff – Light Security (Part-Time / As-Needed)

Schedule: Part-time, as needed (primarily weekends)

We are looking for dependable, energetic individuals to join our Event Staff team in Brookings. This role focuses on light security duties and general event support to help ensure a safe and smooth experience for all guests. Responsibilities:

• Assist with guest entry by monitoring and operating metal detectors

• Perform light security duties, including checking bags and screening guests

• Walk designated areas throughout the event to ensure safety and smooth operations

• Provide excellent customer service by directing guests and answering questions

• Monitor crowd flow and report any concerns to event management

• Support event staff and security personnel as needed

• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times

Requirements:

• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods of time

• Ability to remain calm and professional in busy environments

• Must be able to follow instructions and communicate clearly

• Prior security or event work experience is a plus, but not required
