Employee Relations Coordinator

Avo Photonics is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff have the opportunity to design, prototype and produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including environmental, medical, military, industrial, aerospace, and communications.

We seek an approachable and compassionate Employee Relations Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, be willing to travel between our two local production facilities and be an excellent communicator.

Specifically:

• Investigate and resolve complex or critical employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner
• Handle employee complaints, manage grievance procedures, and facilitate counseling with other stakeholders
• Collaborate with Corporate Trainer to advise and train managers in best employee practices and strategies for managing employee problems and grievances
• Research and explain employment laws to management as required
• Assemble and analyze employee feedback across all levels on a regular basis
• Collaborate with HR Director to revise people programs and policies to generate more positive outcomes
• Conduct exit Interviews to accurately document reason for separation and identify ways to improve staff retention
• Coordinate employee relations events and programs to facilitate retention
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or SHRM-CP/ PHR certification
• In-depth knowledge of employment legislation
• 7 years experience in employee relations
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule based upon business needs
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Approachable and possess strong verbal and written communication skills
