Senior Estimator/Sr. Pre-Construction Manager

As we continue to grow, we are adding a Senior Pre-Construction Manager to bring advanced estimating and pre-construction strategy knowledge and partner closely with Operations and Leadership. About the Position The Senior Pre-Construction Manager plays a critical individual-contributor role at Alt Construction, leading complex pre-construction efforts and serving as a trusted partner to Operations and Leadership. This position is responsible for developing accurate, thoughtful estimates and pre-construction strategies that set projects up for success. The Senior Pre-Construction Manager brings a high level of judgment, accountability, and ownership to each pursuit, helping ensure that projects align with Alt’s standards, capabilities, and long-term goals. Key Responsibilities Lead the full pre-construction lifecycle, including conceptual budgeting, detailed estimating, value engineering, and bid strategy Review and approve estimates, assumptions, scopes, and risk considerations prior to submission Partner closely with Operations and Project Management to ensure smooth handoffs from pre-construction to execution Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and engineers Continuously refine estimating processes, tools, and standards to improve accuracy and efficiency Support client conversations during pre-construction to build trust and confidence Analyze historical cost data and project performance to improve future estimates Uphold Alt Construction’s values in every interaction internally and externally Qualifications 5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating or pre-construction, preferably with a general contractor Strong understanding of construction means and methods across commercial project types Experience collaborating closely with operations, project management, and ownership High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients and partners Proficiency with estimating software and construction technology platforms such as BuilderTrend, Procore, Bluebeam, and Timberline.
