Patient Access Representative / ED Registrar

Performs a variety of secretarial and clerical support duties for rehabilitation services in accordance with established procedures and as directed by the manager. 1. 1Answers phone promptly and courteously.
2. Schedules patient appointments via phone or in person.

1. 1Responds in a helpful way to all inquiries as observed by staff.
2. Registers patients into computer system.

1. 1Demonstrates accuracy in registrations.
2. Enters charges and reconciles daily reports.

1. 1Accurately enters daily charges form therapists' charge sheets.
2. Receives co-pay/ co-insurance payments.

1. 1Demonstrates ability to explain basic insurance co-pay and co-insurance information to patients.
2. Completes medical record correspondance.

1. 1Acts as effective liaison with Clinical Information.
2. Obtains insurance authorization when needed for patient treatment.

1. 1Calls insurance companies as needed to obtain authorization for treatment.
2. Works as a team member.

8.1Demonstrates willingness and ability to assist others as requested. Responds to requests in a timely manner. Qualifications

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent. Secretarial training preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Prior secretarial experience with computer knowledge. Clerical experience with data collection and money handling. Registration and Insurance verification experience preferred. Experience in medical office/ health care setting preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS
