Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Job Overview Aviata Health Group is searching for a highly motivated, flexible, organized, skilled respiratory therapist with experience in a rehab center and strong communication skills. The role is within a Skilled Nursing facility, providing specialized care to patients with cardio‑pulmonary, respiratory, neurological, and physical conditions that affect respiratory function. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnostic testing, treatment planning, and patient care for our Skilled Nursing Facility population. Job Type: Full‑Time. Job Responsibilities Provides patient treatments that meet patient needs and uses current treatment knowledge in accordance with the facility’s clinical procedures. Performs accurate, comprehensive patient evaluations. Develops an effective plan of treatment and obtains appropriate approvals from a referring physician. Communicates with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems, and treatment plans. Instructs patient’s families and/or nursing staff in specified follow‑through programs. Interview patients and families regarding previous level of functioning, lifestyle and current and future expectations for recovery. Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate resources for problem‑solving and clinical best practices. Evaluates patients within the required timeframe as per facility policies. Provides patient care as appropriate and necessary, following the position description for the applicable clinical discipline in which licensure or certification is held. Writes accurate, complete, and clear documentation in accordance with the facility’s regulatory, licensing, payor, and accrediting requirements. Consistently demonstrates a facility interdisciplinary approach to patient care by integrating findings and input from other team members and patients/families, and by preparing and contributing to rehabilitation, patient care, utilization review, family, and caregiver training conferences. Demonstrates safe working practices and contributes to professional development. Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of the respiratory community and medical terminology. Knowledge of respiratory disease and diseases that affect the respiratory system. Ability to use respiratory therapy equipment. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in developing, installing, and interpreting rules, regulations, policies, or procedures. Ability to express ideas and information clearly, concisely, verbally, and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors and officials of other departments. Experience with program development and implementation. Experience in managing and administering therapies as prescribed by a physician and according to standard procedure. Preferred experience with skilled interventions such as cardio‑pulmonary resuscitation. Education / License Requirements Graduation from an accredited program for Respiratory Therapy preferred.
