We are seeking a visionary and technically accomplished Head of AI, ML & Data Sciences to lead the next generation of AI-powered software solutions within the Energy & Utilities sector.
This executive leadership role will drive innovation across Renewable Energy Automation, Grid Modernization, Transmission & Distribution (T&D), and Intelligent Utility Operations. The successful candidate will define product strategy, lead AI and Data Science initiatives, oversee technical product management teams, and help shape the future of digital energy solutions for utility customers across North America.
Reporting directly to senior technology leadership, this role offers the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide AI strategy while working at the intersection of software products, power systems, grid operations, and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities AI & Product Strategy- Define and execute the vision, roadmap, and strategy for AI, ML, and Data Science solutions across energy and utility software products.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, predictive analytics, automation, and digital intelligence to improve utility operations and grid performance.
- Lead Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives with customers and strategic partners to validate emerging technologies and business value.
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams across Technical Product Management, AI, Data Science, and Software Engineering.
- Establish best practices for product lifecycle management, agile delivery, innovation governance, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, innovation, and customer-centric product development.

- Grid Modernization
- Transmission & Distribution Automation
- Renewable Plant Controls
- Renewable SCADA
- Hybrid Energy Management Systems
- Advanced Analytics and Predictive Operations
- Collaborate with utilities, regulators, industry organizations, and technology partners to understand market needs and emerging trends.
- Act as a trusted advisor to utility customers and industry stakeholders.
- Support technical sales, executive workshops, product demonstrations, RFIs, RFPs, and strategic customer engagements.
- Translate customer feedback and market requirements into actionable product enhancements and innovation initiatives.
- Define KPIs and success metrics for product performance and adoption.
- Support pricing, licensing, and monetization strategies.
- Drive revenue growth and market expansion through differentiated AI-enabled solutions.
Key requirements: ✔ 15+ years of experience in Product Management / Technical Product Leadership ✔ Strong background in Utilities, Power Systems, Grid Automation or Renewable Energy technologies ✔ Experience with AI/ML, cloud platforms, analytics, and modern software solutions ✔ Customer-facing experience supporting sales, solutioning, or technical pre-sales in North America ✔ Leadership experience managing high-performing technical/product teams
