Electrical Engineer - Panel Design

100% Remote | AutoCAD Electrical | Panel Design |$60-$70/hr | 6-Month Contract

Are you an Electrical Engineer with strong panel design experience looking for a fully remote opportunity to make an immediate impact on automation projects?

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support a major panel design and reverse-engineering initiative. This role will focus on

reviewing existing electrical designs, creating and updating panel drawings, improving documentation, and supporting testing and validation efforts.

What You'll Be Doing

• Review existing electrical panel designs and identify errors, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Create and revise electrical schematics, panel layouts, and control panel documentation.
• Develop complete drawing packages for systems where documentation is incomplete or missing.
• Utilize AutoCAD Electrical to generate and maintain electrical designs.
• Support reverse-engineering efforts on existing equipment.
• Work closely with engineering teams to validate and improve current panel configurations.
• Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
• Create red-line markups and update final as-built documentation.
• Provide recommendations for design improvements, standardization, and future enhancements.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Strong experience with electrical panel design .
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical .
• Ability to develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Experience reviewing existing designs and creating new documentation where necessary.
• Familiarity with industrial controls, PLC systems, and automation equipment.
• Experience supporting equipment testing and validation activities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Charles, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
