Senior Accountant

Senior AccountantLaSalle Network is partnering with our client to hire a Senior Accountant in Chicago, IL for an exciting contract opportunity supporting critical close, year-end, and audit work. This Senior Accountant will own key journal entries, reconciliations, and internal reporting across multiple business units, partnering closely with accounting leadership to ensure timely, accurate financials. You'll join a collaborative, fast-paced environment within a large, publicly traded organization focused on environmentally sustainable outdoor living products and ongoing growth initiatives. This is a contract role with a hybrid work environment.Responsibilities:Lead accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesPrepare journal entries and journal vouchers across assigned business units (including areas such as expenses, tax entries, and SG&A)Produce and distribute internal financial reports and reporting packagesPrepare balance sheet reconciliations and support GAAP-compliant accounting processesMaintain strong internal controls and ensure policy compliance (including SOX-related controls, where applicable)Support internal and external audits and provide requested documentationParticipate in forecasting activities for SG&A expenses and provide analytical support as neededQualifications:5–7+ years of corporate accounting experience (ideally supporting multiple entities or business units)Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related fieldManufacturing or tangible product accounting experience (highly preferred)Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting in a deadline-driven environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with high attention to detailJD Edwards experience (highly preferred)CPA and/or MBA preferred (especially if conversion becomes a future consideration)Key Details:Employment Type: ContractCompensation: $50-$55 per hourLocation: Chicago, ILWork Model: Hybrid (3 days a week onsite, 2 days from home)
