Role Mammography Technologist responsible for performing mammography procedures in accordance with standards, policies, and regulations. Responsibilities Reviewing patient history, scheduling, educating patients about procedures, and preparing/administering contrast media or medications within scope. Assisting physicians with interventional procedures like fine needle aspiration and localization. Preparing equipment, selecting imaging parameters, ensuring safety, performing quality control, and troubleshooting equipment issues. Positioning patients, performing imaging, analyzing results, addressing image quality issues, and reporting scan outcomes. Working independently in a fast-paced environment with critical thinking and decisive judgment skills. Qualifications and Skills Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program. Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Mammography (M) by ARRT, or ARRT-R with provisional registration and ARRT-M within 12 months. BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross, maintained through employment.
