The Dental Surgical Assistant's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Prepare treatment rooms for surgical and non-surgical procedures.

· Assist the periodontist during periodontal surgery, implant placement, bone grafting, soft tissue grafting, extractions, and other surgical procedures.

· Prepare, organize, and maintain sterile surgical instruments, equipment, and materials.

· Follow all OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols.

· Obtain and document medical histories, vital signs, and update patient records.

· Take high-quality dental radiographs, CBCT scans, intraoral photographs, and digital impressions as directed.

· Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient instructions and education.

· Turn over operatories efficiently to maintain an on-time schedule.

· Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and report any maintenance concerns promptly.

· Communicate professionally with patients, referring offices, laboratories, and team members.

· Assist with scheduling surgical appointments and coordinating treatment when needed.

· Proactively help maintain a productive doctor schedule by identifying opportunities to fill cancellations or open appointment times.

· Maintain all required certifications, including New York registration, radiology certification (where applicable), CPR certification, and any continuing education required by law.

· Attend mandatory monthly staff meetings, huddles, and training sessions.

· Perform other duties as assigned that support patient care, practice efficiency, and the overall success of the Practice.
