We are seeking a talented Heavy Duty Equipment - Shop Mechanic to join our team at our facility located at 20855 Westgate Road, Golden, CO 80403. Reporting directly to the Fleet Maintenance Manager, the ideal candidate will be tasked with the regular maintenance and repair of our Ready-Mix trucks, while ensuring our workshop remains safe and organized. • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems according to specifications and manuals.
• Conduct visual inspections and listen to machinery to identify malfunctions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems effectively.
• Communicate promptly with shop leadership regarding significant issues.
• Operate mobile equipment, including service trucks, to retrieve malfunctioning vehicles.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance and inspections on service vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, and checking fluids.
• Service pumps and motors as required.
• Engage in welding, repair, and fabrication tasks.
• Order parts necessary for repairs.
• Make service calls to other company locations or job sites as needed.
• Assist in training fellow employees when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness in the work area.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

• Ensure proper preventative maintenance practices.
• Respond promptly to maintenance service requests.

• Strong understanding of mechanics related to truck and general maintenance.
• Proficient in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, and various safety equipment.
• Knowledge of proper maintenance procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols and special work permits.
• Competent in using computer systems and software.
• Experience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software is advantageous.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Must possess a clean driving record and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.
• A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
• Must provide personal tools up to ¾ inch.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.

• High School Diploma is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic is required.
• Experience with concrete mixers is preferred.

Occasional travel to various company facilities may be necessary to perform maintenance tasks.

The physical demands outlined here represent what an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this role:

• Regular outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and precipitation.
• Frequent use of eye/hand coordination, near vision, and hearing.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs, as well as push and pull.
• Exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, and various materials including oil, debris, and fumes.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements include safety shoes, vests, glasses, earplugs, and hard hats, with additional PPE for specific tasks like welding.

Salary range: $30 - $34 per hour, based on experience.
