AssemblerThe Assembler works at various stations to build wiring, sensors, and heater components used in custom heating equipment. This role involves working with very small parts, performing detailed and repetitive tasks while seated for most of the shift, and maintaining strong attention to detail. Assemblers rotate duties and cross-train across different areas to diversify their skills, supporting a wide range of custom orders for applications such as restaurant equipment, medical devices, and battery heaters.ResponsibilitiesWork at designated assembly stations to build wiring and other components that go into heating equipment.Measure wire accurately and cut it to precise specifications using scales and rulers.Utilize pre-assembled kits to put together products according to work instructions and prints.Add protective coating around electric terminals to ensure safety and product reliability.Fill casings with cement and handle very small parts with care and precision.Maintain strong attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks and meeting quality standards.Achieve performance metrics after the initial training period of approximately 1–2 months.Rotate duties and cross-train in multiple assembly areas to broaden skills and support production needs.Thread wire through peg boards to create flexible heaters in the flex/foam area.Apply terminals onto materials and add a second layer to cover and protect heaters.Cure assembled heaters in ovens according to process requirements.Test sensors and heaters to verify proper function and quality.Use hand tools such as drills, pliers, wrenches, and other basic tools safely and effectively.Follow shop drawings and prints when available, and interpret basic assembly instructions.Work on orders that can range from small batches to high-volume production (from 1 to 100,000 units).Contribute to a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines.Communicate clearly about previous assembly experience and processes to support training and continuous improvement.Essential SkillsVerified attendance and dependability, supported by referencesAbility to read and use scales and rulers confidently, with daily use required.Experience using hand tools such as drills, split pliers, and open-ended wrenches.Basic math skills to support measuring, counting, and simple calculations.Ability to work with very small parts while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Capability to describe and discuss previous assembly processes clearly and in detail.Comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality and focus.Willingness to cross-train and rotate between different assembly areas and tasks.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with brazing and soldering is a plus.Quality inspection or quality-focused assembly experience is beneficial.Familiarity with shop drawings and prints is preferred, and the ability to interpret them is an advantage.Exposure to manufacturing or production environments is helpful.Interest in learning new manufacturing skills such as CNC, welding, or engineering through training and tuition support.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from a comprehensive package that supports both work and life, including paid vacation, paid holidays plus floating days, referral bonuses, 401(k) with company match, and a robust set of health benefits such as medical, vision, dental, disability, life insurance, and a company-funded HSA contribution. All products are made on site across several specialized departments, creating a dynamic and collaborative production atmosphere. Assemblers typically sit for most of the shift while working with small parts and hand tools, and they follow structured processes for measuring, cutting, assembling, curing, and testing. Available shifts include a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a second shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Overtime is voluntary and most commonly scheduled before the regular shift, though it may also occur after. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and precision, with clear performance expectations after an initial training period.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.51 - $17.51/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
