Sabrosura Foods is also one of the largest private label producers of Hispanic cheese in the U.S.Job Summary: Reporting to the Corporate Controller, your responsibilities include recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets. Your responsibilities will also include the proper recording and tracking of leases in accordance with ASC 842, along with daily general accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, audit, and tax support.Overall, you are comfortable prioritizing tasks and managing deadlines to help meet organizational goals and objectives. In all you do, you maintain a positive attitude and commitment to integrity and professionalism.Supervisory Responsibilities: This is a non-supervisory position.Job Responsibilities:Fixes AssetsCreate and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assetsMake recommendations to management on any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets and leasesRecord fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system (Sage)Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completedReconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledgerCalculate depreciation and amortization for all fixed assets and leasesReview and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciationConduct periodic impairment reviews for both tangible and intangible assetsPrepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiriesPrepare property tax returns and represent the company during any asset audits by a governmentTrack company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the budget and authorizationsRecord fixed asset acquisitions and maintain account reconciliations utilizing the accounting systemProvide fixed Asset Apportionment schedules for the tax returnGeneralPrepare and record journal entries during month-end close process for assigned areasMaintain monthly account analysis and reconcile select general ledger accounts for multiple legal entitiesProvide support during the annual auditAssist management on special projects and other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Strong technical accounting and financial acumen along with problem identification, analytical and resolution skillsFixed asset experienceExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end close processProficiency with ERP software requiredIntermediate to advanced Excel skills in addition to experience with other Microsoft Office applicationsMust have a high-level of organization, a positive attitude, self-motivation and an energetic approachEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required4+ years professional experience in a manufacturing environment
