Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/13/2026 Duration: 8 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) We are currently seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cardiovascular intensive care and demonstrate exceptional clinical skills. Schedule Details Shift: 12-hour days Weekends: Every other weekend Holidays: Required on Memorial Day Role Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CV ICU) Monitor and manage dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, and thermoregulation Administer post-operative care for CABG and valve replacement/repair patients Operate and monitor intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella devices, and ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD) Conduct pulmonary artery line and Swan-Ganz monitoring Manage continuous IV medications and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips Perform EKG interpretation and assist with the management of patients experiencing acute strokes Care for ventilated patients, including BiPAP and CPAP management Execute pharmacologic interventions, including procedural sedation and emergency medication administration Engage in infection prevention, isolation precautions, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of CV ICU experience required Active Illinois nursing license Current certifications in CPR and ACLS NIHSS certification is preferred Epic experience is required Orientation and Floating Requirements Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation Floating: May float to multiple locations within the region as needed If you are a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse ready to contribute to a dynamic healthcare team, we encourage you to apply.
