Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery Postpartum

The Registered Nurse (RN) holds accountability for providing care during the antepartum, intrapatum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases for Labor and Delivery patients. The role involves utilizing the Nursing Process in alignment with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective obstetrical care to Labor and Delivery patients.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in patient care.
• Plan for and anticipate the safe delivery of care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of prior travel experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum, nursery, and Mother/Baby care.
• Flexible to float to other units as facility needs dictate.
• Candidates must hold current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications. PALS certification is required but can be procured within 30 days of start if needed.
• AWHONN certification is preferred, but can be completed onsite.

Work Schedule

This position requires working night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Additional Information

Qualified candidates are required to provide proof of secured housing within 50 miles of the facility prior to acceptance. The AHCA is required for placements in Florida.

This position is located in the Lower Keys region of Florida.
