Location: Missoula, MT (In-Person)

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: Starting at $90,000+ annually, DOE (Negotiated at Hire)

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for an In-House Counsel Attorney on behalf of a well-established, family-owned Montana business. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing legal team and work directly alongside existing counsel to support a variety of legal, regulatory, and compliance matters.

The In-House Counsel Attorney will provide legal guidance and support across multiple areas of the organization, helping ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while assisting with legal strategy, risk management, litigation support, and operational matters. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with company leadership and play a key role in supporting the company's continued success.

1. Advise management on legal and regulatory matters affecting business operations.

2. Assist with compliance initiatives and regulatory requirements.

3. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.

4. Support litigation management and coordinate with outside counsel when necessary.

5. Conduct legal research and provide practical recommendations to leadership.

6. Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the organization.

7. Assist with internal policy development and risk mitigation strategies.

8. Collaborate closely with existing legal counsel on ongoing projects and initiatives.

1. Active law license required.

2. Montana Bar admission preferred, or candidate must have recently sat for the February 2026 Montana Bar Examination.

3. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

5. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

6. Previous experience in business law, regulatory compliance, litigation, or related practice areas is preferred.

1. Full-time, in-person position based in Missoula, Montana.

2. Flexible scheduling available.

3. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
