Overview The Future Talent Program features Cooperative (Co‑op) education opportunities that last up to 6 months and include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Manufacturing Division provide development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long‑term goals. We are a research‑intensive biopharmaceutical company with core areas in human health (diabetes, infectious diseases, oncology, and vaccines) and animal health (livestock, companion animal, aquaculture). This role offers both technical and professional growth. As a co‑op in Global Science, Engineering and Commercialization (GSEC), you will provide global technical support to vaccine and biologics manufacturing areas while working closely with scientists and engineers in late‑stage process development, commercialization, technology transfer, expansion, and commercial manufacturing support. Responsibilities Contribute to departmental performance and results. Apply technical skills to align activities with department objectives. Design and execute process development and characterization studies. Author technical protocols, ensuring appropriate DoE, sample size selection, and acceptance criteria. Manage sample submission and tracking. Employ statistical tools and methods to analyze results. Author technical reports for regulatory filings. Participate in development and commercial teams, presenting study results and conclusions. Support computational modeling work. Perform or review second‑person review (SPR) for high‑quality regulatory submissions. Work on manufacturing investigations, validation activities, or process improvement projects. Examine issues from diverse perspectives (safety, compliance, automation, equipment, process, people) to resolve root causes. Ensure consistent application of standardized work, engineering, and process tools. Author or update documents for investigations, process design/definition, engineering studies, demonstrations, change control, and validation. Support departmental plans and priorities based on team or department scorecard. Identify and resolve technical and operational problems using MPS, lean, and Six Sigma tools. Effectively collaborate with peers and communicate verbally and in writing. Make decisions guided by policies, procedures, and department objectives. Consult as needed with next‑level manager on complex decisions. Maintain safety and documentation compliance in the lab. Contribute to a culture of high performance, innovation, empowerment, diversity, and inclusion. Qualifications Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, science, or related disciplines. No prior experience required. Superior technical competency demonstrated by excellent academic record and work achievement. Strong communication skills, personal character, and ethics. Preferred Experience Skills in computer programming and/or data science and data analytics. Ability to work independently and in teams. Effective problem‑solving, collaboration, project management, and strong written and oral communication. Previous process development, research, or manufacturing experience. Desire to innovate.
