What You’ll Do: Perform intermediate to complex CNC machining tasks, including setup, programming, and operation of multi-axis (3+1 and/or 3+2 indexing) machines Modify existing programs to improve efficiency and machining quality Design and implement custom fixtures for effective and accurate work holding Apply knowledge of lathe concepts and high-tolerance machining to meet customer specifications Collaborate with and mentor less experienced machinists, offering technical guidance and support Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for increased efficiency in machining strategies and tooling selection Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings, utilizing GD&T standards and precision measurement tools Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and AS9100D quality standards in all machining processes You Bring: 2+ years of CNC machining and programming experience in a manufacturing environment (required); 2-year machining degree preferred Proficiency in multi-axis (3+1 and/or 3+2 indexing) CNC machining and complex fixture setup Solid understanding of lathe operations, surface finishes, material properties, and part tolerances Ability to read and interpret technical prints and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Strong knowledge of shop mathematics, mechanics, and precision measurement instruments Basic computer literacy and comfort navigating modern manufacturing systems and tools A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and a willingness to mentor team members A proactive approach to problem-solving, process improvement, and maintaining high-quality standards under minimal supervision Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Manufacturing, Project Management, and Quality Assurance Industries Manufacturing, Aviation and Aerospace Component Manufacturing, and Defense and Space Manufacturing Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Arena Family of Companies by 2x Inferred from the description for this job 401(k) Medical insurance Vision insurance Disability insurance Tuition assistance Paid maternity leave Paid paternity leave Pension plan Child care support Student loan assistance Get notified when a new job is posted.
