Job Details:
Job Title: Milling Machine Machinist 1
Location: Palmdale, CA
Duration: 12 months
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate horizontal, vertical, plain, and universal milling machines
• Perform machining operations including contouring, boring, gear cutting, spline cutting, and keyway cutting
• Select, mount, and align machine attachments and tooling
• Plan machining sequences, setups, cuts, feeds, and speeds
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications
• Use machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments
• Perform shop calculations and layout measurements
• Monitor and verify product quality according to specifications and control procedures
Basic Qualifications (Mandatory):
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of automated machinery
• Ability to work any shift
• Ability to perform moderate to strenuous physical work including bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs, and overhead work
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous machinist experience
• Experience performing milling machine setups and machining operations
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
$40 - $52 per hour
