Adjunct, Psychology

Under supervision, the adjunct instructor will teach various Psychology (PSY) classes offered by SLCC. Position Details This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available. This position is paid at $1,056 per instructional unit. Employment Terms In accordance with SLCC policy, adjunct positions are offered on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment. Official transcripts are required for those who are offered employment within 30 days of hire. Responsibilities Effectively prepare and teach classes following department and SLCC curricular requirements. Provide effective, meaningful and timely feedback to students on their coursework. Maintain records of student performance and attendance. Provide ADA accommodations as directed by SLCC Accessibility and Disability Services. Respond to student questions and concerns in a timely manner. Complete required training within the timeframe given by SLCC. Participate in department or school training as appropriate and when possible. Maintain professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Become familiar with, and abide by, all college policies. Communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds to maintain good working relationships across the College. Work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. Qualifications Master’s degree in Psychology (or closely related field) from an accredited institution. Experience teaching at the college or high school level.
