Advertising Sales Representative

Remote | New York City–Based Media Company; Salary Range: $50-$65K + Commission

We are an independent media company serving the pharmaceutical marketing and advertising industry. We’re seeking an experienced Advertising Sales Representative to develop new business, strengthen client relationships, and grow revenue across our magazine and related advertising programs.

This role is ideal for a persuasive communicator who takes a consultative approach to sales—understanding each client’s marketing objectives and recommending programs that deliver value. We offer a base salary plus commission, medical benefits, and a remote work environment.

What You’ll Do

• Develop a thorough understanding of our magazine’s market position, audience, and advertising offerings, and clearly communicate their value to clients.
• Identify and research prospective clients whose products and services align with our audience.
• Generate new business through proactive outreach, including cold calling and consistent follow-up.
• Build and maintain lasting relationships with new and existing clients, providing responsive service throughout the sales process.
• Schedule and lead in-person and virtual meetings to present proposals, offer recommendations, and address client questions.
• Create customized advertising proposals and cost estimates, and respond promptly to RFPs and email inquiries.
• Recommend advertising formats, media channels, social media opportunities, and sponsored content programs that support clients’ goals.
• Present sample advertisements to help clients evaluate available options.
• Monitor competitors’ advertising products, services, and pricing to inform sales recommendations.
• Collaborate with the marketing team on media kits and promotional plans.
• Attend sales meetings, industry trade shows, and training workshops as required.
• Consistently meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining high standards of client service.

• A solid understanding of sales and marketing principles.

• A commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, or equivalent applications.
• A bachelor’s or associate degree in advertising, communications, or a related field is preferred.
