Nocturnist

Houston Methodist is seeking a dedicated Nocturnist to provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours. This role involves managing admissions, consultations, and medical emergencies, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will contribute to quality improvement initiatives and support the training of residents and medical students.ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours, including admissions, consultations, and managing medical emergencies.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services, to deliver high-quality care.Ensure timely communication with patients, families, and referring physicians to facilitate care transitions.Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety measures, and hospital protocols.Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with medical records and billing standards.Support the training and development of residents and medical students, as applicable.CompensationCompetitive salary with performance incentives.BenefitsComprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.Retirement plans with employer matching.CME allowance and paid time off.Malpractice insurance with tail coverage.Shift & ScheduleFull-time, 7-on/7-off nocturnist schedule, 12-hour shifts.RequirementsEducation: MD or DO.Licensure/Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.Active Texas Medical License or eligibility for licensure in Texas.Experience: Prior experience in a hospitalist or nocturnist role preferred.Demonstrated ability to manage acute inpatient care efficiently.Skills: Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning.
