Metal Fabrication And Welding SpecialistThis role focuses on fabricating and welding metal enclosures and structures using a variety of welding processes and metalworking tools. You read and interpret blueprints and assembly instructions, work primarily with MIG and gas-shielded flux core welding on 16-gauge to 0.5" carbon steel, and ensure all products meet precise specifications and dimensions. You also design and build fixtures that support efficient and accurate production.ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints and assembly instructions to determine fabrication requirements.Perform MIG welding and gas-shielded flux core welding as the primary processes used in builds.Work with 16-gauge to 0.5" carbon steel to fabricate enclosures and structural components.Construct metal enclosures and structures using appropriate welding techniques and fabrication methods.Ensure all product specifications, tolerances, and dimensions are met consistently.Design and build fixtures that improve accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency in production.Set up and operate machinery and equipment for metal fabrication tasks.Use hand tools and metal fabricating machinery safely and effectively during production.Handle and work with various metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and brass.Maintain a clean and organized work area in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment.Follow safety procedures and quality standards throughout the fabrication and welding process.Essential SkillsMinimum 3–5 years of experience in welding and fabrication.Proficiency in MIG welding, including production MIG welding.Experience with gas-shielded flux core welding.Ability to read and understand blueprints and assembly instructions.Demonstrated skill in fabricating metal enclosures and structures.Proficiency with metal fabricating machinery, equipment, and hand tools.Ability to work with 16-gauge to 0.5" carbon steel.Strong attention to detail and an eye for precise measurements and specifications.Ability to set up machinery for fabricating operations.Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and brass.Additional Skills & QualificationsComfort working in a production environment with varying workload demands.Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace.Why Work Here?You join a company that invests in long-term employee ownership and financial well-being through an ESOP and 401(k). Recent schedules have included Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Sunday 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., though this level of overtime is not expected to be permanent. The environment involves regular use of welding equipment, fabrication machinery, and hand tools, with no travel required.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Henrico, VA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
