Accounting Specialist

Company Description Merasi has supplied products to the Oil & Gas industry in Mexico for over 40 years and has expanded operations across South America, including Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Merasi LLC was established in 2005 as a procurement and sourcing hub for the North American market, with main offices in US in Houston Westchase District . The company is currently having operations in the San Antonio area and plans to add additional products tailored to the Texas market. Role Description The Accounting Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. Day-to-day tasks include reconciling accounts, monitoring payables and receivables, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies. The Accounting Specialist will work closely with operations and procurement teams, utilize accounting software to track transactions, and provide analytical support for financial and management reporting. The role also involves helping streamline accounting processes and supporting audits and regulatory reporting as needed. Qualifications Strong foundation in Finance and Financial Statements, with the ability to interpret and prepare reports. Proficiency with Accounting Software quickbooks and experience posting and reviewing Journal Entries (Accounting). Solid Analytical Skills, including attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies and trends. Relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably within industrial, energy, or supply chain environments. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Working knowledge standard accounting practices; experience with month-end close is beneficial. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
