Role Description The Associate Attorney will work full time on-site in Knoxville, TN, supporting a broad range of civil and business matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal documents, and providing clear, practical legal advice to clients. The role involves case management, participation in negotiations and settlement discussions, and collaboration with partners and other attorneys on litigation and transactional matters. The Associate Attorney will interact directly with clients, attend hearings, depositions, and other proceedings as needed, and contribute to strategy development to advance client objectives. This position requires strong professional judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and apply relevant statutes and case law. Experience or demonstrated interest in simple and complex civil litigation. Ability to provide practical, client-focused Legal Advice and communicate legal concepts clearly. Excellent Research skills, including drafting well-supported memoranda, briefs, and other documents. Effective Negotiation skills for settlement discussions, contract terms, and dispute resolution. Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission (or eligibility for admission) to the Tennessee Bar. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and organization. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented firm and to manage deadlines across multiple matters. 1-3 years litigation or transactional experience, internships, or clerkships are preferable.
