Position Summary

The Assembly Technician performs a variety of assembly tasks across multiple assignment areas to support production and quality standards. Entry-level Small Build assignments involve small build projects, which are suitable for candidates with no prior experience and include comprehensive on-the-job training. Most other assignment areas require at least one year of manufacturing experience, with two or more years preferred for certain roles. Responsibilities include assembling components, conducting quality inspections, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. Responsibilities:

• Assemble components using hand and power tools according to specifications
• Follow work instructions, SOPs, and job orders to meet production goals
• Perform quality inspections and document results accurately
• Track materials, output, and scrap using basic math skills
• Complete documentation and system updates such as Epicor
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment
• Identify issues in assembly processes or quality concerns and escalate appropriately
• Support team operations and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe workspace

Possible Assignment Areas:

• General or Distribution:   small build (entry-level), standard build, big build, pre-assembly, cable assembly work
• Electrical: basic electrical testing and troubleshooting, diagnosing wiring or assembly issues, assembling or disassembling components for maintenance or repair
• Electromechanical or Final Assembly : building assemblies to print, wiring to schematics, OHM testing, interpreting BOMs, drawings, schematics; final assembly verification, cleanup, finishing, and product verification
• Transformer: reading blueprints, work orders, winding diagrams; building transformer cores; operating winding machines; counting and organizing materials; using specialized equipment; operating overhead cranes

Requirements:  

• High school diploma or GED required
• Small Build assignments are entry-level with no experience necessary; most other roles require at least one year of manufacturing experience; two or more years preferred for certain assignments
• Ability to read instructions and follow SOPs accurately
• Basic math skills including measuring with tape measures
• Understanding of blueprints and electrical or mechanical assembly concepts is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks throughout shifts
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

Schedule:

• 1st and 2nd shift available

Compensation:

• $20.00 per hour
