Surgical Technologist

Department: 37700 Lexington Medical Center - Administration: Surgery Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule: Monday-Friday with call Pay Range: $25.30 - $37.95 Education/Experience: Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing. Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required. Certification in specialty area preferred. Essential Functions Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN. Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies. Communicates to the team, co‑workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co‑workers, and patients. Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development. Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory. Practice Innovation. Work Environment Possible exposure to infections and contagious diseases, hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids and waste; possible exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation. Physical Requirements Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching with arms, finger and hand dexterity, talking, hearing, seeing. Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs. maximum.
