Quality Manager, Manufacturing & ISO

Anton Paar QuantaTec is seeking a Quality Manager who wants a high-visibility leadership role where quality is not a support function - it is a strategic driver. In this role, you will influence product development, manufacturing, and customer support while building a strong culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

A Snapshot of What You'll Do:

You will champion a world-class quality system and develop a company-wide quality culture by:

• Reviewing and enhancing existing quality processes and practices
• Implementing and tracking quality metrics to achieve 100% out-of-box quality
• Ensuring company-wide compliance with ISO 9001 and robust process controls across design, manufacturing, and service

You will also lead technical and product quality responsibilities , including:

• Product responsibility for serial instruments (function, specification, quality, and cost)
• Project responsibility during product development and serial transition
• Technical responsibility for customer projects

The Impact You'll Make:

Leadership & Culture

• Mentor and develop team members through regular coaching and feedback
• Build a proactive quality culture through training and education
• Serve as the organization's primary resource for quality strategy and problem solving

Continuous Improvement & Quality Systems

• Initiate and lead quality improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
• Manage the Quality Management System and support corporate audit activities
• Partner with corporate compliance on risk management processes
• Establish industry best-practice quality metrics and monitoring systems

Problem Solving & Analytics

• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives
• Develop statistical data collection and analysis systems to predict quality trends
• Prepare product and process quality reports and communicate insights to leadership

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as the quality link between Development, Production, and Customer Support
• Support concurrent engineering and design development projects
• Oversee product transition from R&D to manufacturing
• Train Customer Support, Repair, Assembly, and Quality teams

Product & Technical Responsibility

• Grant technical approvals and approve technical changes to serial products
• Maintain instrument-specific technical and quality specifications
• Ensure instrument safety and compliance with new standards, including European regulatory requirements
• Lead error analysis and systematic problem resolution

Operational Excellence

• Monitor production costs and lead cross-functional improvement projects
• Participate in internal and external quality audits
• Identify initiatives that drive quality improvements and cost reduction
• Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally

Experience and Education

Required

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
• Experience in quality management or quality assurance in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (automotive, aerospace, medical device, or similar)
• Experience managing a certified ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
• Strong knowledge of quality methodologies (Root Cause Analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement)
• Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills

Preferred

• SAP experience
• Experience with scientific instrumentation

Working Conditions

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, communicate, and handle equipment regularly
• Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs
• Ability to obtain a passport for international travel
