Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and manage residents requiring ventilator support and other respiratory therapies
• Administer respiratory treatments, medications, and interventions as prescribed by physicians
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory equipment to ensure optimal functioning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate residents and their families about respiratory conditions and care procedures
• Document all assessments, treatments, and interventions accurately in residents’ medical records
• Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and provide critical care as needed
• Maintain compliance with all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

Skills and Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
• Proven experience working with ventilated patients, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
• Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques, ventilator management, and emergency procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
• Ability to adapt to changing clinical situations and prioritize tasks efficiently
