You'll have the opportunity to integrate across cross-functional teams spanning drone engineering, maintenance, operations, and site construction. You'll own the mechanical and electrical design of certain operational equipment as well as the overall site layout. Your designs will be driven by a wide range of requirements from drone engineering, maintenance, operations, construction, health and safety, and more. You'll work to meet key metrics for cost, throughput, and schedule, while balancing the various requirements. You'll learn from our current operational sites and leverage that to define our next generation of drone delivery operations sites as we grow bigger and better.Key job responsibilitiesThis role will require occasional travel (10-20%) to support site launches and learn from existing operational sites.Basic qualifications- 5+ years of design & innovation, research & development work experience- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field- Experience with design & innovation and research & development- Experience in management of engineering design projects- Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD softwarePreferred qualification - Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing- Experience with design-in-safety- Experience in aviation operations and/or airport construction and operations- Experience in robotics or automationAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
