Position Summary: Stanford Athletics is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Coach, Women’s Lightweight Rowing. The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Associate Head Coach in coaching the Women’s Lightweight Rowing program while supporting all aspects of the program’s operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coaching student-athletes; assisting with recruiting, training, practice planning, fundraising, budget management, weight management, and team travel. The Assistant Coach also has the opportunity to participate in summer camp operations, consistent with institutional and NCAA regulations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist with planning and organizing team training sessions and practices, coach and develop student-athletes, and use video analysis to provide performance feedback, while respecting the academic demands of Stanford student-athletes and maintaining compliance with NCAA and IRA regulations. Support and facilitate a healthy team culture that promotes grounded self-awareness, a growth mindset, selfless teamwork, personal and team integrity, and competitive greatness. Assist in identifying, evaluating, and recruiting outstanding student-athletes to compete at Stanford, consistent with NCAA and IRA regulations and University admission expectations. Help coordinate the transportation of the team and equipment to and from practices and competitions. Assist with organizing and coordinating visits for prospective student-athletes, visiting teams, and other program guests. Participate in Department of Athletics education and activities, including regular coaches' meetings, all-staff meetings, compliance education, and other departmental learning opportunities. Participate in and/or support alumni outreach, fundraising, and other relationship management activities on behalf of the program and the Department of Athletics. Maintain responsibility for equipment inventory and control for the program and serve as the program's liaison for facilities and event coordination. Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Head Coach or their designee. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, alumni, donors, recruits, and campus partners. A passion for student-athlete development and creating an outstanding program experience. Computer literacy and experience using Word, Excel and Google Workspace. Minimum Requirements Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and two years of collegiate or professional coaching experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions. Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team. Compensation: The expected compensation range for this position is $72,500 to $76,400 per annum. Perform coaching duties at practice (fungo, center toss, etc.) Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks. Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
