About the Role Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a visionary and collaborative Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to help shape the future of one of the nation's leading cancer centers. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as the senior executive accountable for integrating payer relations, financial planning, and revenue cycle to support financial sustainability and strategic growth. The CFO has enterprise-level accountability for revenue strategy, payer reimbursement and the financial infrastructure necessary to optimize net patient service revenue and overall institutional financial performance. The CFO plans, leads, organizes and directs all activities within the Institute's Department of Finance. This role shapes the Institute's strategic agenda and establishes financial policies, systems, and processes that enable effective decision making, accurate financial reporting, and strong internal controls. The CFO also provides executive oversight of payer relations, including payer contracting strategy, reimbursement optimization, managed care relationships, and alignment of payer initiatives with the Institute's financial, clinical, and strategic objectives. The CFO oversees finance, treasury, and accounting operations, serves as a senior staff member on the Finance Committee of the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Board of Directors, and is responsible for financial planning, forecasting, and resource management to support organizational goals. What You'll Do
As CFO, you will:
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the President & CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors on financial strategy and organizational performance.
• Lead the development and execution of financial plans that support Roswell Park's long-term growth and mission.
• Oversee all finance, accounting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions.
• Provide executive leadership for revenue cycle operations, reimbursement strategy, payer relations, and contract performance.
• Drive initiatives that strengthen revenue integrity, improve cash flow, optimize reimbursement, and enhance overall financial performance.
• Partner with clinical, operational, and research leaders to align financial strategies with organizational priorities.
• Lead payer contracting and managed care strategies while building strong relationships with commercial and governmental payers.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting, sound financial controls, regulatory compliance, and successful audit outcomes.
• Oversee supply chain operations, procurement strategy, contract management, and resource stewardship across the organization.
• Build, develop, and mentor high-performing leaders and teams across multiple functional areas.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field with a minimum of eight years of progressive healthcare financial leadership experience, including executive-level responsibility.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance and a minimum of ten years of full-time experience in healthcare public accounting or financial management including executive-level responsibility.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) credentials preferred.
• Deep knowledge of healthcare finance, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, reimbursement, and revenue cycle management.
• Significant experience with payer contracting, managed care strategy, reimbursement optimization, and payer relationship management.
• Demonstrated success leading complex healthcare organizations through financial planning and strategic growth initiatives.
• Experience partnering with revenue cycle, legal, compliance, clinical, and executive teams on reimbursement and payer strategies.
• Familiarity with healthcare financial systems, electronic health records, and decision support tools; EHR implementation experience preferred.
