Director of Facilities Management

Position Goals The Director of Facilities Management is responsible for the strategic planning, operation, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance of all hospital facilities and physical plant systems. The role ensures a safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective environment of care supporting patient services and clinical operations. Position Responsibilities The Director of Facilities Management at Patients ER & Hospital responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, fire/life safety, and emergency power systems. Ensure compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation, Joint Commission/DNV/CIHQ standards, NFPA, OSHA, and Texas DSHS regulations. Lead capital improvement projects, renovations, and construction activities. Develop and manage the Facilities operating and capital budgets. Direct and lead Environment of Care and Life Safety programs. Lead emergency preparedness, utility failure response, and disaster readiness. Supervise facilities staff and manage third-party service vendors Other Duties Maintain strong relationships with departments to understand facility needs proactively. Uphold company values, ethics, conduct requirements, and customer service standards. Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements The requirements for employment with Patients ER & Hospital are: Qualifications Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required. 510 years of healthcare facilities experience, including leadership responsibilities. Strong knowledge of hospital regulatory and accreditation standards. Preferred Certifications CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facility Manager) FMP or CFM Professional Engineer (PE) Familiarity with Texas healthcare facility requirements Work Requirements Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies On-call rotation as needed Occasional access to mechanical rooms and construction areas Physical Demands Standing, walking, sitting, and twisting Using arm, leg and back muscles for extended periods Lifting and Carrying up to 50 pounds Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., with assistance Pushing and pulling Working with hazardous chemicals Climbing (ascending and descending) Potential for cuts or bruises Bending/ Stooping Working near radiation sources Potential exposure to communicable disease Exposure to mechanical parts, electrical systems, fumes, chemicals, and moderate noise
