Reverse Logistics Specialist Location:Santa Ana, CA Job Type:12 + month contract to (hire + multi-extension capability) Rate: 42.00 /hr. W2 About the Role We are looking for a driven, detail‑oriented Reverse Logistics Specialist to manage end‑to‑end return operations, optimize asset recovery, and oversee vendor performance. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking return flows from initial request through final disposition, conducting root‑cause analysis on operational gaps, and ensuring physical‑to‑system inventory accuracy. Working closely with Samsung SDS, 3PL/4PL partners, and internal cross‑functional teams, you will play a key role in driving cycle‑time reductions, minimizing financial losses, and maintaining high service‑level standards across our supply chain network. Key Responsibilities End-to‑End Reverse Logistics & 3PL OversightManage the full reverse logistics pipeline from initial return request to final disposition and system closure.Coordinate return transportation, warehouse receiving, inspection, grading, and disposition with Samsung SDS and external 3PL partners.Monitor daily return volume, aging, backlog, exceptions, and carrier/3PL SLA performance.Manage disposition flows including Return to Vendor (RTV), refurbishment, resale, liquidation, recycling, and disposal.Document and standardize Operating Procedures (SOPs), controls, and escalation pathways across all return locations. Inventory Control, Analytics & QualityMonitor return inventory status, aging, and perform reconciliations between physical stock and system records (SAP/WMS).Investigate receiving, grading, credit, and inventory discrepancies to drive swift resolution and protect financial assets.Analyze return reasons, operational failure patterns, and repeat defects to perform root‑cause analysis and execute Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).Prepare weekly and monthly KPI reports, executive summaries, and trend analyses (by product line, customer channel, carrier, and aging bucket).Lead initiatives aimed at reducing return cycle times, handling costs, avoidable returns, and processing defects.Escalate material service failures, compliance risks, and financial exposures to leadership in a timely manner. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in reverse logistics, returns management, warehouse operations, or inventory control. Technical Skills: Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data modeling). Systems: Direct experience with SAP (or another enterprise ERP) and familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Problem Solving: Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated experience conducting root‑cause analysis. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to cross‑functional leadership. Preferred Qualifications Experience in consumer electronics, retail, e‑commerce, or high‑volume distribution environments. Hands‑on experience managing 3PL/4PL logistics partners and holding providers accountable to contractual SLAs. Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, SixSigma, CAPA). Exposure to business intelligence and analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau, SQL). Understanding of inventory accounting, financial controls, claims, and audit requirements.
