Safety Officer

Job Description\n \n \n CHS Hershey - Hershey, PA\n \n \n Full-Time\n \n \n The CHS Hershey Safety Officer is driven to create a safe and secure environment for the children, staff, and visitors of CHS Harrisburg. This individual will patrol campus spaces and ensure that safety procedures are followed, and that precautions are taken when necessary. The Safety Officer reports to the School Operations Manager and provides reports on risks and issues. Starting pay is in the range of $16.18 - $21.15 per hour, based on expertise.\n Responsibilities:\n \n Checking doors and windows of all campus buildings to ensure they are secure and locked at appropriate times\n Patrolling interior and exterior parts of campus and grounds\n Enforcing parking regulations\n Responding and assisting employees and visitors with Safety concerns\n Reporting safety concerns and placing work orders\n Responding to calls from staff for emergency assistance, e.g. suspicious persons or vehicles inside and outside campus\n Investigating suspicious vehicles on campus\n Communicating with and acting as a liaison with local fire, ambulance, and police departments\n Maintaining visitor logs of those who come to campus\n Responding to fire and other security alarms on campus\n Providing access to rooms and buildings as needed\n Documenting all security calls on patrol logs\n Completing detailed incident reports and conducting follow-up investigations\n Enforcing organizational policies and procedures\n Working with employees to promote a safe working environment\n Attending regular meetings with other members of the department as needed\n Conducting meetings to relay any changes to staffMaking appropriate recommendations for safety changes on campus\n Ensuring compliance with all PA State laws and Town ordinances\n Facilitating emergency evacuations on campus\n Exhibiting positive relations towards students and faculty when responding to questions and communications\n \n Qualifications:\n \n Associates Degree in law enforcement or related field\n 3+ years' experience in security or law enforcementCPR and AED Certification\n Responsible, enthusiastic, and cares about working in a mission-focused organization\n Ability to proactively identify problems and implement solutions\n Willingness to be held accountable and receive feedback\n Comfortable with technology, Microsoft Suite, Outlook and school software systems\n Commitment to the mission and values of CHS and MHS and demonstrated high degree of integrity as all MHS and CHS staff are considered to be role models for students\n U.S. work authorization and successful completion of pre-employment background checks and clearances\n \n \n Who we are and what were looking for\n At CHS, we are leaders passionate about early childhood education and community betterment.
