Purpose

The Community Life Pastor (CLP) focuses on equipping people to take a next step on their spiritual journey, we are a Family of Disciples on Mission. This position provides strategic leadership in the areas of discipleship, group engagement, and local missional initiatives. Specific implementation oversight of activities at Ridge Point, aligning the Fearless Followers of Jesus in a common direction, consistent with the mission, vision and strategy of the ministry.

Primary Responsibilities

Groups / Discipleship

• Creatively cast a clear vision that inspires people to be engaging in the life of the church, providing pathways for guests and attendees from the front door to fully devoted; moving people from passive participants to being a Family of Disciples on Mission.
• Oversee the alignment of discipleship and groups to ensure that we are equipping people to make new followers of Jesus and live missionally as per our ministry pathway.
• Equip and empower group leaders to live out the three core areas of a group; encourage times of fun and social interaction, ensure spiritual growth and accountability and model how to live on mission both personally and as a group.
• Develop and implement strategies to continually monitor and improve the health of groups; intentionally growing participants spiritually, relationally, and missionally for the purpose of making disciples.
• Oversee the effectiveness and sustainability of the Ridge Point bookstore which supplies resources to Fearless Followers for personal and group growth.
• Oversee the staff and budget for all group activities.
• Oversee Ridge Point’s young adults’ group through volunteer leaders.

 

Missional Initiatives

• Participate as a member of Ridge Point’s Lead Team that provides direction and oversight to the strategic growth and development of the church.
• Willing and able to fulfill pastor responsibilities such as weddings and funerals.
• Cast vision throughout the ministry helping to engage people to live a life on mission.
• Oversee programs, initiatives, and events that lead our faith community in living missional lifestyles.
• Provide structure, direction, and support for Fearless Followers to engage in mission as a community through organizational and member-led initiatives.
  
• Ensure that leaders and volunteers are empowered to develop and implement programs and initiatives that engage people to reach and restore our city, region and world.

• Plan and implement training and programs that develop missional leaders that are active participants in our city, region and world.
• Oversee the staff and budget for Ridge Point local missional initiatives and special campaigns.

Qualifications

• Preferred five years’ experience in successfully leading within a community life role, mission’s environment or other relevant ministry experience. 
• Proven ability to develop, lead, and motivate volunteer
• B.A. or equivalent experience required.
• Willing to call Ridge Point Community Church your home church and attend regularly within 6 months of employment.
