CNC Operator (2nd Shift) — Aerospace
Job: CNC Operator 2nd Shift
Location: Long Beach, CA (On-site) — 90805
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM–12:05 AM | Full-time
Pay: $19–$28/hr DOE
Support daily aerospace manufacturing by operating CNC milling centers, maintaining production flow, and meeting quality/safety standards in a fast-paced team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Run multiple 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills (may operate more than one at a time)
- Load raw material / unload finished parts; monitor machining cycles for continuous operation
- Verify setups using job travelers and internal documentation
- Check tool life and replace cutting tools as needed; measure using calipers/micrometers
- Perform basic part inspection; deburr / edge break
- Follow AS9100 quality requirements
- Move materials using forklift/overhead crane (preferred; training may be available)
- Maintain 6S/clean work area; log production in ERP
- Assist with basic machine upkeep (coolant checks, filters, chips) and suggest improvements
- Entry-level to junior CNC experience preferred (aerospace exposure a plus)
- Able to read basic manufacturing documentation/travelers
- Comfortable with hand measurement tools (calipers, micrometers)
- Detail-oriented, quality-focused, team mindset; flexible to production needs
- Stand for extended periods; lift up to 25 lbs ; comfortable in a manufacturing environment
