Project Procurement Lead

Job Summary We are seeking a Procurement Lead to manage sourcing, contracting, supplier performance, and procurement execution for complex project work packages. This role will work closely with project management, engineering, finance, legal, logistics, HSE, quality, operations, and external suppliers to deliver safe, competitive, and reliable procurement outcomes. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial judgment, hands-on sourcing experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional project environment Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including supplier identification, market analysis, RFIs/RFPs, tender clarifications, bid evaluations, negotiations, award recommendations, and contract support
- Develop procurement strategies for materials, equipment, services, construction, industrial services, and project work packages, aligned with business priorities, budgets, and delivery requirements
- Review scopes of work, technical requirements, commercial proposals, pricing structures, schedules, exclusions, assumptions, and contractual risks
- Evaluate supplier capability, cost, schedule, quality, HSE performance, commercial risk, execution approach, and overall value
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery commitments, warranties, change mechanisms, commercial exceptions, and other key terms with support from relevant stakeholders
- Manage supplier performance, delivery issues, change orders, claims, commercial escalations, and recovery plans when performance is off track
- Maintain accurate sourcing and contracting records, approvals, bid evaluations, negotiation summaries, commitments, and status updates in the required systems
- Provide clear procurement updates, risks, recommendations, decisions, and action plans to project and business stakeholders
- Support compliance with procurement standards, delegated authority, ethics, supplier due diligence, and applicable business processes
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience leading procurement, sourcing, contracts, or commercial activities for complex projects, capital projects, construction, industrial services, engineered equipment, or operations support
- Strong understanding of supplier selection, bid evaluation, negotiation, purchase orders, contract terms, change orders, payment milestones, delivery tracking, and supplier performance management.
- Ability to review technical and commercial documents, identify risk, develop negotiation positions, and work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work with project management, engineering, finance, legal, quality, HSE, logistics, operations, and external suppliers.
- Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, planning discipline, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, suppliers, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced project environment.
- Experience with ERP systems, procurement platforms, contract management tools, Microsoft Excel, and project tracking tools is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize risks, recommendations, decisions, and action plans clearly for different audiences.
