OCIO Client Onboarding Analyst/Sr. Analyst

Job Summary:

As an OCIO Client Onboarding Analyst, you will manage activities related to onboarding new clients to NEPC's OCIO platform and implementing changes for existing clients. You will also contribute to business initiatives that improve and advance our onboarding and implementation processes.

In this highly visible, fast-paced role, you will contribute to all aspects of OCIO client implementations, including ensuring accounts and documentation are in place with investment managers, hedge funds, and custodians for trade execution and settlement. You will interface with investment managers, transition managers, custodian banks, and teams across NEPC. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in managing activities involving internal and external clients, highly detail-oriented, and comfortable working hands-on.

Our client base spans defined benefit and defined contribution plans, endowments, foundations, healthcare systems and private wealth, each with its own structure, documentation requirements and service providers. You should expect to manage multiple onboardings concurrently, each at a different stage and with competing deadlines.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Act as the main point of contact for clients and consulting teams during onboarding and transition events
• Set up NEPC's internal trading systems and establish external connections with related parties, primarily investment firms and custodians
• Independently review and validate client legal and account-opening documentation, including AML/KYC materials, custody and investment manager documentation; proactively identify and escalate gaps to the OCIO Contracts, Legal, and Compliance teams, as appropriate
• Maintain complete and accurate records of account-level onboarding activity
• Identify and implement process improvements across the onboarding and implementation workflow, including documentation standards, tracking tools, and handoffs with partner teams
• Lead and contribute to special projects that improve the scalability, quality, and efficiency of the OCIO Team

Job Qualifications:

• 2-6 years of investment-related operational experience at an investment manager, hedge fund, custodian bank, or investment consulting firm; new client onboarding or transition management experience is a plus
• Exceptional attention to detail, with strong organizational and project management skills and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, interfacing with personnel at all levels inside and outside of NEPC
• Experience reviewing AML/KYC and client due diligence documentation is a plus, including entity formation and governing documents, beneficial ownership and control-person information, and authorized signer verification
• Familiarity with institutional account-opening requirements and the documentation required by custodians, investment managers, fund administrators, private market managers, and hedge fund managers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a mature, professional demeanor and the ability to present to clients and prospects — this aspect of the role will increase over time
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and data validation; working knowledge of PowerPoint
• College degree or equivalent experience

Compensation:

The base salary for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 per year with an additional annual performance bonus. Individual compensation is based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, certifications, location, responsibilities of the role, internal equity and alignment with market data.
