Registered Nurse (RN) - Trauma Step Down (Subacute)

Role Overview: The registered nurse will deliver direct patient care across various inpatient units, including specialized areas such as Oncology, Trauma, Neuroscience, and Surgical units. Responsibilities include implementing individualized care plans, assisting with tests and procedures, administering medications, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The nurse will provide clinical leadership, serve as a role model, and participate in orientation and precepting of new staff. Key Duties Provide safe, quality nursing care to diverse patient populations, including Neonate to Geriatric. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and execute care plans, incorporating patient and family education. Assist with special tests, procedures, and emergency measures as needed. Document accurately in medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies. Administer medications and monitor patient responses, promoting a safe environment. Engage in professional development through education, literature, and training. Identify and report safety issues, medical errors, and environmental hazards promptly. Qualifications & Skills Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Current RN license in the relevant state or reciprocity. CPR/BLS certification; IV verification and tuberculosis testing required. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other), and specialized certifications. Physical ability to perform heavy work, including moving patients and objects.
