Registered Nurse (RN) - Adult Oncology

Role: Provide direct nursing care in various inpatient units, including PCU, Oncology, Surgery, Trauma, Neuroscience, and more. Lead clinical activities, serve as a role model, and ensure adherence to hospital policies. Deliver patient-centered care across diverse age groups, implement care plans, assist with procedures, and administer medications. Participate in orientation and precepting, respond to emergencies, and maintain accurate medical records. Promote a safe, therapeutic environment and support patient safety initiatives. Responsibilities Deliver safe, effective patient care and collaborate with healthcare teams Implement and document individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient education Assist with tests, procedures, and emergency measures Administer medications, including IVs, and ensure proper documentation Participate in staff orientation, precepting, and professional development Maintain a safe environment and promote patient safety protocols Respond to patient inquiries and triage calls Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing program Current RN license in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement CPR/BLS certification (must obtain within 30 days if not already certified) Complete UNMH IV verification within 6 months Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, bilingual skills, and specialty certifications Work Environment: May involve exposure to hazardous materials and physical exertion, including lifting heavy objects.
