Utility Worker (PT)

Overview Utility Worker (PT) Public Works/Utilities Employment Status: Part-Time FLSA Status: Hourly Experience Required: Previous mechanical and equipment operation experience Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diploma/GED Direct Supervisor: Operations Manager Primary Work Location: Outdoors Responsibilities Assist in the installation and maintenance of water meters, along with water and sewer lines by implementing instructions of Manager safely, correctly, and efficiently to include, but not be limited to: digging trenches, fitting pipes and valves, and using acceptable traffic control techniques Maintenance of fire hydrants including painting, greasing, valve operation, and mowing around hydrant Maintenance of water valves including exercising Obtain water meter readings by locating, reading, and accurately recording meter readings, as directed by Operations Manager Assist in the maintenance of County property as may be required, to include, but not be limited to snow removal both by hand and with equipment Ability to be courteous and helpful to customers and relaying appropriate and pertinent information, as required Abide by VOSH and OSHA safety requirements Perform related tasks as required Qualifications Knowledge : Water and sewer processes; principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction Skills : Actively looking for ways to help people; use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions Abilities : Mathematical ability; bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body; regular work attendance is required To Apply All applicants must apply online at click here.
